A survey of 426 PCPs in the different health systems, including the SFVA, found that SFVA PCPs report a more supportive, team-oriented practice climate than PCPs in two other local healthcare systems, and were more likely to endorse their clinic as a good place to work. Dr. Delphine Tuot of the UCSF Center for Innovation in Access and Quality (CIAQ) and Dr. Nwando Olayiwola of the UCSF Center for Excellence in Primary Care (CEPC) were recently awarded a Blue Shield of California Foundation technical assistance grant for spreading adoption of eConsults in the safety net. eConsultation and referral systems (eCR) are delivery system innovations that enable primary care providers and specialists to consult electronically about a patient’s conditions, determine the optimal manner of care, and engage in effective co-management of patient conditions.

The CEPC is pleased to announce that we have a new member in our practice coaching and training team: Ms. Candy Magana! Candy comes to the CEPC from the San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP). During her time as a Project Manager at SFHP, she co-managed the 10 Building Blocks Practice Coaching Program, served as a practice coach, and managed the development and implementation of an $8M block funding grant program for the SFHP network.
