CEPC Practice Coaching for Primary Care Transformation Training

February 29, 2016 to March 2, 2016
San Francisco - CA

We are pleased to announce that the Center for Excellence in Primary Care (CEPC) will be providing a Practice Coaching for Primary Care Transformation training in partnership with CareOregon.

This training is an orientation to, and comprehensive review of, the science of primary care practice transformation and equips participants with the practical tools and coaching skills necessary to engage and support with transformation efforts towards high performing practices. Focused on the 10 Building Blocks of High Performing Primary Care (Bodenheimer et al, Annals of Family Medicine, 2015), the course explores best practices implemented in high-performing clinics in areas such as team-based care, data-driven improvement, access and population-based care.

Trainings offered by CEPC are based on adult-learning theory and principles. Our highly-interactive and collaborative training strategy includes didactics, group exploration, games, role-plays and problem-based case studies. During the course of the training, participants will practice new skills and receive feedback in real-time from trainers and fellow participants. Trainers encourage participants to draw on their personal experiences working with patients or clinic staff.

Ideal participants are quality improvement staff or clinic staff, frontline workers, educators, managers or leaders. Many organizations prefer sending teams from their setting that are part of improvement efforts. The upcoming 3-day February/March training is additionally appropriate for those working with or in academic teaching clinics with residency programs, since we will be incorporating key learnings from a recent study of high performing teaching clinics.

Learning Objectives

1. Overall learning objective: Learn knowledge, skills, and applicable improvement tools to assist your practice or others along the journey towards high performing primary care.
