Inspired by the CEPC curriculum, East Tamaki Healthcare in Auckland, New Zealand, is creating a self-management teamlet. East Tamaki Healthcare is part of Nirvana Health Group, a network of primary care clinics and support services serving a population of 200,000 people living in high needs communities across greater Auckland. CEPC trainers (Drs. Tom Bodenheimer and Nwando Olayiwola, Candy Magaña, and Sara Syer) join the Pacific Business Group on Health and Center for Care Innovations in their first of a series of leadership, coaching, and clinical team trainings, as part of the statewide Practice Transformation Initiative.
From 2013-2015 with support from the Macy Foundation, researchers from the UCSF Center for Excellence in Primary Care (CEPC) visited 23 primary care teaching clinics to map out what a “high-performing clinical experience” looks like for students, residents, faculty and patients.
