With a new grant from Kaiser Permanente, the CEPC is part of a new, two-year effort to help prevent heart attacks and strokes among people who are at greatest risk. CEPC's grant of $250,000 will expand the reach and scope of Kaiser Permanente's successful Preventing Heart Attacks and Strokes Everyday (PHASE) program.

Dr. Olayiwola joins 9 other selected faculty across the UC campuses for a small dinner with President Janet Napolitano, as part of the President's quest to learn as much about the UC community, as well as opportunities and challenges facing faculty in the system. Dr. Olayiwola and the other 9 faculty were selected "based on their journey, research, and work that translates to benefiting the lives of Californians and the world".
