New CEPC Publication in JCOM: "Engaging Patients as Partners in Practice Improvement: A Survey of Community Health Centers"

Community Health Centers with a formal strategy to engage patients in quality improvement report more return for their efforts. A CEPC study of community health centers found that PCMH recognition and dedicated grant funding for patient engagement were not associated with greater influence of patients on strategic goals, policies, and programs, but having a formal strategy to engage patients, leadership support, and making time to discuss patient feedback in team meetings did increase their impact. See the July issue of Journal of Clinical Outcomes Management for more details, and check out the tools for engagement on our website.
